Just as we thought Samsung’s Note 9 was the apotheosis of their smartphone innovation—Well I thought wrong again. This time Samsung isn’t just upgrading hardware and pushing their smartphone specs to another level, Samsung’s CEO, DJ Koh, for mobile division, has suggested the company might unveil its long-awaited foldable smartphone later this fall (November) – wait, what!
did I just say foldable? The mere idea of the foldable phone makes my brows twitch and the backs of my knees uncontrollably sweat. Anyway, I do not know how the design will look like but I am still researching not from the company, of course, which is still being coy about what the phone will be called. I will just call it Galaxy F, get it, F for Foldable—I know I am smart like that lol.
A new report out of Korea from ETNews says the so-called Galaxy F (the naming convention we’ll stick with for now) will sport a foldable 7.3-inch Samsung-made OLED display on the inside with a 1.5R curvature. That’s according to SamMobile, which adds that the external display will “reportedly be 4.6 inches and of flexible OLED variety, allowing the device to be used as a regular smartphone when the device is folded. The design, which matches with what DJ Koh was hinting at, offers the convenience of using the larger display only when it is needed and not necessarily for every task.”
So, what is Samsung saying about the features. So far what I can say is the Galaxy F might look like the dazzling ZTE Axon M. It has a hinge down the middle making it look like pages from two different books. Samsung, the master mind of most phone OLED display including iPhone, paints a picture of this particular phone with one display which is actually foldable. You can fold it to make it look like a normal phone or unfold it to expand the display size and make it look like a tablet.
What will be the benefits of having a foldable smartphone?
For the company– Imagine this bendable wallet like potentially trifold smartphone becomes ubiquitous everybody wants one, they want Apple, Huawei the rest to make one. Samsung will definitely be the alpha company all these other companies will have to run to for a foldable display made for them. This will increase the market revenue of Samsung and put them in a good market advantage over their competitors.
For Consumers – I can think of a 1000 and 1 benefits we would gain from using a foldable smartphone. Multitasking, bigger display, easy to keep a tablet in your packet etc. And durability. I know some of you will doubt that but imagine you only have to open (unfold) your smartphone to use it or fold it all the way to the back like the foldable laptops. Hope you are getting the picture I’m painting here. This will prevent easy cracking of phone screens when it falls, that is if it is folded. I am not sure falling when it is unfolded though.
For Developers—Imagine what developers can do with this display. As a developer I will rather not say anything here. I love my intellectual property. You can how ever contact me to discuss the several ideas I have.
The only disadvantage I see for now will be the price since Samsung is saying this flagship project will cost a leg and two kidneys to own. Hahahaaha I’m kidding but will cost around 1500USD to 2000USD.
I have been waiting for this moment all my life. Oh yes Samsung has done it again and I don’t care if you think I am a samsung ass-kisser or think there is no perfect phone. Just allow me to differ, it is my opinion.
I tell my friends always if a phone is able to pass these 4 checks then that phone is the perfect phone.
- Great display
- Great battery
- Great camera
- Great processor
Allow me to dumb it down;
The Samsung Galaxy note 9 is rocking a super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors which is about 83.4% screen-to-body ratio that is exactly 6.4 inches, 103.2cm^2. It has screen resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels, 18.5:9 ratio that is approximately 516 ppi density. It has a multitouch capability and protected with corning Gorilla Glass 5 -HDR10 Compliant – Always-on display.
Samsung has finally pushed the battery capacity to another level – 4000mAh battery capacity.
Samsung says they have rectified all courses of their note 7 exploding saga and are assuring all users it won’t happen again and we can be sure that the note 9 is 100.1% save to use.
The main dual camera is rocking a 12MP, f/1.5-2.4, 26mm, 1/2.55″, 1.4um, dual pixel PDAF, OIS and 12MP, f/2.4,52mm, 1/3.4″, 1um, AF,OIS, 2x optical zoom. Please don’t say iPhone X has a better camera.😐
I will not talk much about the processor will leave that for MKBHD to do due diligence to that.
I know my iPhones lovers will be like this is all just hype. But anyway all these great specs Samsung did not stop there, they improved the S pen by making it bluetooth acceptable to the S note9 and also charges itself when placed in the note 9 S pen compartment. I almost forgot we still have the earphone jack 😄😄😄😜😜😜.
Enough talk. I am dropping this link for all the note 9 specs here
This blog was written during my trip from Tamale to Accra. Enjoy!!!!
To have is not to own. You can have tons of properties but own none. You may have a fleet of cars that belong to someone else. Yes, you may. At any point in your life, you may have something that someone else owns. It is good to have… but better to own.
It rained heavily over the weekend. On one of such wet nights, most of us had taken shelter under a makeshift shade amidst the downpour. A young woman kept pacing back and forth the road. She was an umbrella seller.
Guess what. She had been overwhelmingly whipped by the rains though she was carrying a lot of umbrellas. One bystander, peeved, screamed at her to use one of the umbrellas, at least, to save her from the cold. She hurled back, “I have them… but I don’t own them!”
A clear case of having something you do not own. A perfect illustration that having doesn’t necessarily mean owning!
In life, there are many things we can have but not own. In Ghana, for instance, we have independence we don’t own. We are still dependent on the West. We have great resources but we don’t even own them because we can’t churn them into usable products without foreign interference. Having indeed is not owning.
A handkerchief seller may still sweat in traffic. It is not a mystery when a food vendor goes hungry. It’s like the caretaker of a mansion who can’t even rent the apartment out. It’s like a bank teller who counts thousands of cedis each day yet leaves home poor. You can have something you need so badly but can’t use it because you do not own it!
You can have something you have always desired, especially happiness, yet not benefit from it because you are not a master of it. You can have happiness but not own it. You can have joy but not be a master of it. You may be the happiest character on planet Earth but if you don’t own this happiness, sad to say, it may not last.
You see, happiness is an inside job which must not be outsourced to anyone. What makes us happy should be from within… not without. When looking for a reason to be happy, look within. Look at what you have and those you are yet to have. Be grateful. Focus on your uniqueness. Pay attention to you!
Selfishly love yourself. Appreciate your ups and downs. Pamper yourself. No one can love you any more than you will love yourself. Be a boss of your happiness.
Interesting to note, you may have happiness but not own it. You may be happy in one moment and overly moody in the next. You may be all excited when you enter a new relationship but return to your life of mourning when that relationship ends. That is what a life that has happiness which it doesn’t own looks like.
You are the sole determining factor of your happiness. If you own your happiness, nothing on the outside can steal it from the inside. You want to be free from others’ emotional slavery? Own your world of happiness!
Many of us are roaming this world in search of happiness when it can be found right inside of us. We travel to distant lands in search of what can make us happy… not knowing our happiness was nearer than we could imagine. If you want to find happiness, the first place to search is inside you.
No one except our own selves can make us happy. When we assume that others may make us happy, we only end up disappointed. Assumptions and expectations always breed disappointments because no one can ever make us happy as much as we can. We must be the source of our own happiness. We must own our own happiness.
We need to have happiness. We need to own it. And… this happiness can be found inside of us. When we leave our happiness in the custody of others, they become remote controllers of this happiness, tuning its volume at their own will. Always remember that your happiness is your sole choice and decision. It should always be an inside job!
When we leave our happiness in the hands of others, they become its owners. When we become happy only because someone walked into our lives, we outsource the responsibility of our happiness to them. They become its owners and we become only caretakers.
When times are good, be happy. When they are bad, still be happy. When people help you, be happy. When they leave you in the lurch, still be happy. The determinant of your happiness should be you… and not anyone or anything around you.
Be happy not just because someone else made you feel so. Be happy because you always are anyway. Your happiness should be your decision… not another person’s. Your happiness should be a product you can use anytime of the day at your will. Have it. Own it.
Your happiness is your sole duty. Just having it is not enough. Don’t just be a caretaker of your happiness. Be its owner. Don’t live a life of rented happiness. You don’t only need to have happiness. Own it!
Global icon Dwayne Johnson headlines the action adventure “Rampage,” directed by Brad Peyton. Johnson stars as primatologist Davis Okoye, a man who keeps people at a distance but shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, incredibly rare albino silverback gorilla who has been in his care since he rescued the young orphan from poachers. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered animals. As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with discredited geneticist Kate Caldwell (Naomie Harris) to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.
- PADDINGTON 2: A superior slice of children’s entertainment, Paul King’s sequel to 2015’s Paddington 2 is a sheer joy, infused with comic inspiration and irresistible sweetness. In this second series installment based on the stories of author Michael Bond, the perpetually hatted Paddington (voiced by Ben Wishaw) winds up in prison after he’s framed for the theft of a magnificent pop-up book that he planned to purchase for his dear Aunt Lucy (Imelda Staunton)—a crime that’s actually been perpetrated by a faded local actor (and master of disguise) played to cartoonish perfection by Hugh Grant.
The set pieces are uniformly inventive, the hybrid live-action/CGI aesthetics are superb, and the supporting cast—including Sally Hawkins, Brendan Gleeson, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, and Peter Capaldi—is across-the-board fantastic. Only the hardest of hearts could resist its good-natured charm, epitomized by its sincere belief (advocated by Paddington himself) that the key to improving the world (and ourselves) is compassion, affection, politeness and positivity.
3. BLACK PANTHER:
Marvel movies are designed to hew to convention, the better to allow them to seamlessly fit together into the larger tapestry of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Still, within their stand-alone confines, they afford some room for artistic risk-taking, as is evidenced by Black Panther, Ryan Coogler’s blockbuster about the war for fictional African nation Wakanda.
On one side of that conflict is Chadwick Boseman’s noble King T’Challa (aka Black Panther), who believes that protecting his people is best achieved by hiding them from the outside world. And on the other side is Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), a violent challenger to the throne who wants to use his homeland’s technological might to stage an oppression-upending global revolution.
Underscored by such weighty hot-button themes, Coogler’s material is enlivened by eye-popping production design and captivating performances, in particular from Jordan, whose antagonist proves the finest superhero villain since the late Heath Ledger’s Clown Prince of Crime. It’s a distinctly African-American comic-book epic with universal appeal.
4. A QUIET PLACE:
A Quiet Place is a 2018 American horror film directed and co-written by John Krasinski, who stars in it alongside his real-life spouse Emily Blunt. The film is produced by Michael Bay’s company, Platinum Dunes, which is also run by Andrew Form and Bradley Fuller. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods began working on the story in 2014, and Paramount Pictures bought their spec script in 2017. Krasinski then joined as a director and wrote a new draft of the script. Principal photography took place later in the year in upstate New York. In A Quiet Place, a family must live life in silence while hiding from creatures which hunt exclusively by sound.
5. INFINITY WAR:
Infinity War is a 2018 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to 2012’s The Avengers and 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the nineteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and features an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Josh Brolin, and Chris Pratt. In Avengers: Infinity War, the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy attempt to stop Thanos from amassing the all-powerful Infinity Stones.

Word has come down from high the iPhone x is dead… weird day!!!
This shocking information comes from Neil Campling, co-head at international banking and finance group Mirabaud securities.
“tech so honest hurts”
The simple problem with the x is that it is too expensive and consumers are turning their backs on high-priced smartphones.
Looking at iPhone chip supplier TSMC in particular, Campling said it has been badly burnt by the experience causing inventory stockpiles to hit record highs over the past decade simply because apple isn’t ordering the chips again.
Another company Austrian sensor maker AMS, could see its revenues decline about 35% quarter-on-quarter almost double the 18% market feared- as interest in the smartphone plummets.
The sad part is apple never said this was a one-time anniversary phone and with the kind of event that was hosted to showcase this phone, we all expected the iPhone x sales to only go one direction and that is the direction of the moon but things not going as expected. looking at apple report recently it can be seen that sales of iPhone x hasn’t even lived up to that of iPhone 7 and the sales have become stagnant or falling since the iPhone 6 in 2014. Meanwhile Famously accurate KGI Securities’ analyst Ming Chi-Kuo warned everyone in January the iPhone X would be cancelled.
But these troubles should not be seen as a bad thing. Apple has been a strong brand from day one and always push the limits of technology. Apple lovers should view this as a wake-up call for apple not to only push the apple brand but also reinvent the iPhone range and find new ways to woo customer. In short, the new iPhone would have all the dhope tech of iPhone x and more and also would be cheaper for consumers to afford. Just maybe iPhone x plus would be cheaper than the iPhone x.
We actually thought we saw all the dope tech at CES this year. Remember Vivo? A At last month, Vivo introduced the — a concept phone packed with a bunch of unique features. At the time, it could not say whether or not the public would be able to get their hands on it. According to my sources the phone will be released by late 2018 or early 2019.
What makes this phone so special?
The Apex phone is the perfect size. It fitted in our palm precisely, and didn’t require too much stretching to use one-handed. However, the software was a highly customized version of Android with some successful tweaks — like flicking up open apps to close them from the pull-up menu bar — and some less so, such as the iOS-esque notification shade. But the software wasn’t the focus, and when you hold the great-looking, Apex everything else gets forgiven.
Its big 6-inch OLED screen stretches to all edges of the phone, pushing the bezel-less look to the extreme. Its front-facing camera is embedded inside the phone and pops out of the body from the top like a piece of toast from a toaster. In lieu of speakers, the phone’s screen vibrates to create a richer and louder sound. Lastly, the phone scans your prints directly on the display, and it can scan two fingers at the same time for extra security.

Basketball has been dormant in Ghana for a long while now, its not that the game has not been played by people but rather it hadn’t gained the recognition it deserved by the sport council in Ghana .
This has changed in the recent times as we’ve come to see basketball spring up in places across the nation by the efforts of mostly private businesses & basketball lovers. The Northern Region in particular has gone far when it comes to the affairs of Basketball and this, in the recent months, has all been influenced by a basketball enthusiast named, Reymond Tang (AKA Santa).
Santa brought about the first ever community Basketball competition to the Northern Region. It took place just last month (February 16th), and had five (5) teams participating;
All the games took place at the Tamale Polytechnic (T-Poly) basketball court over the course of two days (February 16th & 17th). The games involved all the teams playing against each other and the team with the most wins and/or points goes home victorious, and in this event the Kaladan Magics were the overall victors. The games were handled by two coaches in the persons of Coach Jehad and Coach Chris. The entire competition was extremely lively and basketball players from all corners of Tamale turned up to exhibit their stylish basketball prowess.
Talking to Santa, he stated that the event was organized with the help of all the various Team captains and they had no sponsorship to support. ‘We are not stopping just yet’ he said. Basketball is evolving in the north and more is to come
Never before has Tamale, or the entire Northern Region for that matter, seen a Basketball competition of this nature, it is therefore a very freshening scene to Tamale’s general setting. The organizer (Santa) said its going to be an annual event, which, in each year would lead to a second game called Rematch and in this year (2018), that is going to be in three months. Santa took a very bold initiative organizing this event and some would even go as far as referring to him as the “Basketball Jesus” of the North.
It serves as a great opportunity for people to just lay back and witness the Basketball game played in all its beauty and we hope to witness a much larger turn out and much more vibrancy in the upcoming games.

Before I get into this article let’s look at how crypto did last week.
Like a phoenix rising from its ashes, last week showed that the crypto currency market is in the midst of a resurrection, but is there enough wind under its wing to make it take flight? Over the week we saw bitcoin not breaking the $12k resistance and dropped down to $9.4k. It is back now, or is it? As we approach $11.5k and possibly we might see $12k soon, keep an eye on buying because the feeling for a bull run is high. Overall, the market is showing signs of life but it hasn’t fully been completely reborn yet. With an overall market cap of $455bln, its up by 0.04% from the last week.
Now, let’s get into the story of the day. As we all know Satoshi Nakamoto is the inventor of Bitcoin. This inventor remains a mystery as the volatile digital currency continues to enjoy wild fluctuations in value. But while the identity of the fable Satoshi Nakamoto remains unconfirmed. This brings me back to the question who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
There is a conspiracy that Bitcoin ‘created as dollar 2.0 by US Government to fund secret CIA and MI5 missions’. This hidden currency was created by US intelligence services to send untraceable funding to top secret international CIA and MI5 missions, according to a shock new claim.
The shocking claim from a cybersecurity expert was made public after slides from her presentation in Russia were photographed and shared on social media.
One of Natalya Kaspersky’s slides said. “Bitcoin is a project of American intelligence agencies, which was designed to provide quick funding for US, British and Canadian intelligence activities on different countries.
Let me slow down here before the CIA comes for me lol.

Hello guys and welcome to the second edition of Dhope Tech Fridays. Sorry for skipping two weeks, as I said was out for some weeks on an official duty which prevented me from doing what I love the best Blogging about technology.
Anyway, jump into today article….. drum roll… THE GAXALY S9 AND S9+
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ is a refinement of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ respectively but have a couple of new things worth noticing and the hype.
The S9 and S9+ are packed with new colors that fall on everyone’s color choice. There is my favorite the midnight black, ocean blue, silver titanium, orchid purple for the ladies and maple gold. The only problem is the skin attracts a lot of fingerprints but that can be easily fixed by purchasing a Dbrand case.
Everything looks the same as it previous version but this time the fingerprint scanner is more reachable and just under the camera.
This edition comes with 5.8″ and 6.2″ infinity display respectively, IP 68 certified, wireless charging, a USB type-c and a headphone jack ( this you won’t get in an iPhone 7 onwards). The speaker has a little improvement, adding a stereo listening outlet at the headphone jack so accidentally covering the speaker outlet will not affect the sound anymore.
- Snapdragon 845
- 4GB/6GB of Ram respectively
- 12mp camera (x2)
- 64 GB storage plus a micro SD card expandability
- Iris scanning and facial recognition
WHAT MAKES THE S9 AND S9+ THE BEST PHONE SO FAR?
Need I say it? The same thing that made the Google pixel and the iPhone the best. THE CAMERA…..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The camera is packed with the best hard and software ever to be seen on a smartphone. This time Samsung wants us to know is not the sensor of the camera but the lens of the camera that makes it the best. The aperture of the lens can be adjusted from f1.5 to f 2.4. Let me explain that. Pro camera users understand this, at an f2.4 or f2.8 aperture makes the image sharper than f1.8 by allowing more light to enter the lens. But in a long distance, short a lower aperture is used to get a sharper long-distance image and reducing image noise by reducing the amount of light hitting the lens. This is exactly what the s9 and the s9+ camera does. You can literally see the camera lens widen when you change the aperture from f1.5 to f2.4.
The software also brings users a super super super slow mo features I have never seen in my life. Now anyone can feel like a pro director. The Slow-mo feature allows the camera to shoot at 960 frames per second. Like, let me repeat that I think you guys not getting it 960 frames per second on a phone. That to say stretches a 0.2-second video to 6 seconds that is pretty awesome guys. Also just like the iPhone Samsung has also added the AR emoji feature.
I will not talk about Bixby. Will still use google assistant over that.
Almost forgot, this phone will be slightly lower than the note 8… hurraaaayyy!!!!!
Vince out!!!! SEE YA!!!!
